Composition I

Last night, was a night that I will never forget. It all started at my local high school, for a huge boy's basketball game. The game was between Lima Senior and my high school, Ottawa-Glandorf. The matchup is known as,"The Game", and its always a game that comes down to the final few seconds. Once I arrived, I purchased an arm's length of 50/50 tickets, and a game ball ticket. I placed the tickets inside my pocket and went towards my seat, pointing my attention towards the action on the court. I placed my phone into my pocket, and heard a big "bang". As I looked forward, I noticed an Ottawa- Glandorf player laying on the ground, with his face drenched with blood. The croud began erupting, and fans started pushing each other. As the conflict continued to rise, I found myself joining in on the havoc. The fight continued for another ten minutes, then the police started taking fans in handcuffs. I was one of those individuals. The police officer first asked me to clear my pockets, which consisted of the 50/50 tickets, a game ball ticket, a wallet, a phone, and my college ID. Throughout the course of the chaos, I had accidently punched a police officer. The officer in response, pushed me to the ground, and began to put me in handcuffs. This was the story of how I ended up in a jail cell. The night started with a small breakout fight, and ended with myself in jail. The result was all because I had assaulted a police officer.

Second Prompt

After reading Chapter 1 of Hjortshoj's book, "The Transition to College Writing", I often found myself supporting many of his claims. Throughout my first semester as a college student, I had to learn how to be flexible with my time and be on high alert for incoming circumstances. I also had to learn many other successful skills, such as concrete studying skills, managing my studying locations, and the importance behind writing in a professional way. Personally, I thought my high school did a poor job in preparing me for college. My school made college seem like a haunting, and extremely difficult place, but after completing my first college semester, I can tell them it's not as extreme as they pronounce it to be. As the fall semester began, it wasn't very difficult to get my schedule mapped out and get myself organized to be as successful as I possibly could be. The semester went as great as I could ever imagine, as I managed to make the Dean's list, with a p...
