Sixth Prompt

For this blog post, I'm going to rewrite the fairy tale story, known as the "Three Little Pigs". The goal of rewriting this famous story, is to hopefully change the ending in order to make it more of a modern based type of ending, seen throughout today's stories. The story will start off very similar to the original story written in 1890, but the overall message is changed to connect today's audience with the meaning behind the passage. Instead of having the wolf splash into a kettle of water at the third pigs brick house, I would change the ending to include the wolf trying to sneak in through the back door. The wolf would say, "Let me in little pig or I'll huff and I'll puff and blow your house down". The pig would respond with, "Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin". The wolf would once again huff and puff, but the house would not blow down. Then the wolf would then try another method, as he would go around to one of the windows and say, "Let me in little pig or I'll huff and I'll puff and blow your house down". The pig once again, would respond with, "Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin". The wolf instead of huffing and puffing to blow the house down, he would grab a leftover brick that the third pig used to build the house, and throw it at the window. The window would then break into pieces due to the crunch of the brick. The pig in response would leave his house and go to another area, and build another brick house, to protect himself from the wolf. In having this type of ending, it would persuade children to never give on something, even though it may be difficult and not go their way the first time. This would lead to a direct relationship with the current generation, and remind children that if you fail at something once, don't give up, try again until you succeed.

Second Prompt

After reading Chapter 1 of Hjortshoj's book, "The Transition to College Writing", I often found myself supporting many of his claims. Throughout my first semester as a college student, I had to learn how to be flexible with my time and be on high alert for incoming circumstances. I also had to learn many other successful skills, such as concrete studying skills, managing my studying locations, and the importance behind writing in a professional way. Personally, I thought my high school did a poor job in preparing me for college. My school made college seem like a haunting, and extremely difficult place, but after completing my first college semester, I can tell them it's not as extreme as they pronounce it to be. As the fall semester began, it wasn't very difficult to get my schedule mapped out and get myself organized to be as successful as I possibly could be. The semester went as great as I could ever imagine, as I managed to make the Dean's list, with a p...
